Award winning social enterprise Halo Leisure is bringing its expertise to Tenbury Wells as it works to get MORE PEOPLE MORE ACTIVE MORE OFTEN in the local community.

Thanks to a new partnership between Tenbury Community Pool (TCP) LTD and Halo Leisure, there are now exciting plans for the leisure facilities at Tenbury Community Pool.

The partnership means TCP, the charity representing the community that owns the facility, will still own the building and facilities, and have a big say on how they are run and developed, especially when it comes to what’s on offer. Award winning social enterprise Halo Leisure is now responsible for managing and maintaining Tenbury Community Pool for the immediate future.

For over twenty years Halo Leisure has helped the people of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Gloucestershire, Stratford, Bridgend County, Merthyr Tydfil and Wiltshire to live a healthier and more active life by managing leisure centres and swimming pools on behalf of the local community. Halo is a social enterprise and registered charity. This means that they don’t have shareholders, and any surplus money is put back into the services and facilities. This helps to keep costs low and offer outstanding value for money so everyone can enjoy an exciting range of leisure opportunities. Halo has won multiple national awards, in recognition of its work to develop leisure opportunities for local communities.

Scott Rolfe, Halo’s Chief Executive said, “We are delighted to be selected by TCP as the operational partner for the leisure facilities at Tenbury Community Pool. Our social enterprise business model and registered charity status allows us to trade for social purposes and ‘not for profit’, something TCP recognised as a sign of quality and strength.”

Adrian Taylor, TCP’s Chairman commented “We were looking for a partner that had the expertise to manage Tenbury Community Pool and maximise the opportunities for communities to be more physically active. In particular we wanted an operator that was focused on high customer service standards, provides a range of additional exercise and rehabilitation opportunities and encouraged local community involvement. We have seen the way Halo has transformed other leisure centres and pools and the dramatic impact that it has had on visitor numbers and therefore the health of the communities around them. We are looking forward to working with them and to seeing their wider plans for the site.”

Scott went on to say, “We will work with the team at the centre and TCP to support even more local people to participate in some form of exercise, increase the range of activities available to them, and invest in the leisure facilities. We are confident that, together, we can transform services and facilities for the benefit of local residents and get more people more active more often”
