Tenbury Community Pool is proud to announce the installation of a brand-new

swimming pool lift known as the ‘poolpod’ helping us make swimming more

inclusive and accessible for everyone in our community.

“The poolpod will help to provide dignified, comfortable and simple access to the swimming pool for people who struggle with independent access. It is perfect for wheelchair users, swimmers with mobility issues and those with young families. The purchase of the poolpod was made possible with generous grants from the Sport England Movement Fund, Eveson Trust, Wooden Spoon Charity, the Gordon Gray Trust and the Rowlands Trust.” Adrian Taylor, Chairman, Tenbury Community Pool.

Stephen Biggs the Worcestershire Wooden spoon representative, dropped in to the pool on Monday 30th June to see the PoolPod in action. Stirred into action by a rugby routing in 1983, a group of England fans set up the Wooden Spoon Charity. Since then, they have

been supporting children with disabilities or facing disadvantage.

The PoolPod will allow the pool to be accessible to more people in the community.
