Tenbury wins National Environmental Performance Award 2023-24

Tenbury Community Pool has beaten the competition and taken

gold at the recent Freedom Leisure Awards Ceremony which this

year was presided over by The Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson

DBE.

Tenbury Community Pool came out on top by winning

Environmental Performance of the Year 2023 - 2024, beating off

competition from over 120 centres in England and Wales.

Adrian Taylor, Chairman of TCP is joined by Ruby Collett, Centre

General Manager and Chris Wedgbury, FL Area Technical Manager.



What did we do to achieve the award?


✓ 34% reduction of electricity use, 38,000kwh. Enough to power 13

UK homes for an entire year or charge 760 electric vehicles.

✓ 41% reduction in gas use, 260,000kwh. Enough to heat 21 UK

homes for a year or enough gas to power 35,000 pizza ovens for an

hour which would produce an estimated 17.5 million pizzas!

✓ Staff following strict non negotiables including using the pool cover

and water temperature management.
